Monday Mar 2....the group presentation

today we begin to prepare our presentation on the issue presented in our small group novel

Task:   Identify the issue and create  a 20-30 minute presentation teaching the class about the issue

The presentation must include the following:

In all likelihood, you will choose a slideshow to "deliver" this information

- include an outline or you presentation: order of items / time allotted for each section etc

-  slides  that providebackground into the world of the book... where does it take place?....what is this setting like?....who are the main characters? and how the social issue is represented in the book

-  an "activity" for the students to complete( a handout, a quiz, a questionnaire etc)

- an explanation of how your novel specifically relates to the Disconnected film (wed / thur)

- an explanation of how your novel could be compared to at least one other pop culture product: a movie, a novel , a game, etc

- an explanation of at least one of your chosen news articles and how it relates to the book

- a detailed listing of local resources for those facing this problem

Above all, there should be discussion....led by you....in which the issues of the novel are considered.....you should have a minimum of five questions for the class to discuss

the elements above are the minimum...feel free to add other interesting elements to add to our understanding of the issue

the organization is up to you.....it has to be the time required and it must include the elements noted above....how you go about is your decision
